Valencia

I ended up in Valencia mostly because I discovered it to be the birthplace of Santiago Calatrava, the Spanish architect known for designing railway stations and other infrastructure projects—including the World Trade Center Oculus in New York. What I found was a lively city with good beaches, great architecture (some of which designed by Calatrava himself), and excellent paella.
